定語從句相信大家在初高中都已經學習過，在各種閱讀材料中也都見過不少。一個簡單句跟在名詞或代詞後進行修飾限定，在主句中充當定語成分，這樣的句子就叫定語從句，如果能用到寫作中，會給我們的文章增色不少。
定語從句的`運用
定語從句通常由關係詞引導，關係詞可以分為關係代詞和關係副詞。關係代詞主要有that, which, who, whom, whose; 關係副詞主要有when, where, why。根據先行詞的不同，所選擇的關係詞也不同。下面我們就用不同的關係詞來對句子進行合併。
01that的用法
(1)Although television has reduced the amount of time, it doesn’t have to be this way.
(2)The time family and friends spend together
在這兩個句子中，第二個句子可修飾第一個句子中的名詞“time”，因此，我們可以選擇that或which作為引導詞，將兩個句子合併為一個定語從句：
Although television has reduced the amount of time that family and friends spend together, it doesn’t have to be this way.
02who的用法
(1)People can make the choice to turn off the TV and do something more active.
(2)People are addicted in watching TV.
在這兩個句子中，第二個句子修飾第一個句子中的名詞“people”，因為修飾人，所以引導詞只能選who，將兩個句子合併為一個定語從句如下：
People who are addicted in watching TV can make the choice to turn off the TV and do something more active.
