The official English-language journal of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Gameslaunched its inaugural issue on Monday as the southern city headed into the last60 days before the opening of the Games。
本週一，在距離廣州亞運會開幕倒計時60天之際，廣州2010年亞運會的英文官方會刊創刊號正式發行。
在上面的報道中，inaugural issue就是“創刊號”。這裡的issue指“(報刊、雜誌的)一期，期號”，除這裡提到的inauguralissue以外，還有為某一事件釋出的'special issue(特刊)。Inaugural在這裡的意思是“首次的，創立的”，例如：the inauguralrun of the new train(新型列車的首次行駛)。Inaugural還可以表示“開幕的，成立的”或“就職的，就任的”，例如： Thepresident gave an inaugural speech when he took office。(總統上任時發表就職演說。)
英文中有許多和“首次”有關的表達，如first-day cover(首日封)、maiden work(處女作)、initial publicoffering(首次公開發行股票)等等。
