怎麼向對方表達自己已經理解了呢?或者，沒明白，請對方再詳細解說一遍呢?
(一) 表示“理解”、“明白”的動詞短語
catch on、take in、make out
get sth. across、put sth. across、
come across
(二)這組動詞短語可以表示“理解”、“明白”的意思。
catch on 由catch“抓住”引申出“理解”、“領會”、“明白”的意思。
1)After his repeated explanations, he at least caught on his meaning.
經過他再三解釋,他至少明白了他的意思。
2)Being a foreigner, Carl did not catch on the joke.
卡爾是個外國人，不能理解這笑話的`含意。
3)Please repeat what you said, I didn't quite catch on.
請把你的話再說一遍，我沒十分聽明白。
4)I did not know why they were laughing at his remark, but in a while, I caught
on and laughed too.
我不知道他們為什麼笑他的講話，但過了一會兒我明白了，也跟著笑了起來。
take in 基本意思是“吸收”，相當於absorb，由此引申出“理解”、“領悟”的意思。

make out 也可以表示“理解”、“明白”的意思，相當於 understand，常接 wh-clause。

get sth. across “讓人理解”、“讓人明白”、“把·····講清楚”，也可說
put sth across，是及物動詞用法。

explanation across to the students.
老師試圖解釋這個問題,但是他沒有能讓得學生明白到他的解釋。
2)The aim of writing a summary is precision, which means you must convey what
the author wanted to get across, but in few words.
摘要的目的是簡練,這意味著你必須用很少的詞表達清楚作者想要傳達的意思。

不過是不及物動詞用法。句子主語是物，多用於否定句。

老師試圖解釋這個問題，但是他沒有能讓得學生明白到他的解釋。
2)He spoke for a long time but his meaning did not come across.
他講了很久，但沒把意思講明白。
