Several years ago, when a foreigner appeared in China, many people would gather around and stared at him or her as if they were watching a rare animal.

However, it’s not uncommon to meet some foreigners even in middle schools now. There’s no doubt that schools will be better known. What’s more, it’s good for students to develop interest in English study as well as learn more about foreign cultures. Meanwhile, their oral English will be improved a lot. On the other hand, some foreigners, though well paid, find it difficult to get used to the way of life in a foreign country and they sometimes worry about their safety. 注意: 1)詞數:100左右。 2)參考詞彙:嚴格控制have a tight control, 衛星城 satellite town 一、 認真審題,準確把握提示要求。 1. 審體裁。準確把握體裁是寫好一篇文章關鍵的一步。體裁的形式直接決定著考生用英語表達資訊的途徑和形式,並影響著書面表述語句的正確性和準確性。 2. 審人稱。根據體裁要求,要準確把握人稱的使用。是用第一、二人稱,還是用第三人稱。 3. 審時態。不同的體裁,其動詞時態的`使用也各有不同。一般情況下,故事、日記等體裁常以一般過去時為主要動詞時態;書信、便條、通知等體裁常以一般現在時為主要動詞時態。 分析以上例項,應以第一人稱的口吻進行描寫。從題目要求、表內要點以及體裁可知,本文時態應以一般現在時為主體時態。 二、 理清表內要點,進行合理發揮。 圖表式書面表達其主要內容常被列在表內。考生首先必須理清表內內容要點,抓住主要資訊進行描寫。可先把表內所提供的內容要點用英語列出,儘量使用一些較高層次的詞彙或短語以及所學過的句法結構(如定語從句、分詞結構等)進行描述。例如上述例項圖表中的內容可用英語列出以下幾個短語或句式: (1) practice a policy of "Late Marriage" and "One Couple, One Child" (2) reduce the birth rate (3) have a tight control over country people entering cities to do various physical jobs (4) lighten the pressure on the city caused by the increasing population (5) build apartment blocks with shopping centers, schools, hospitals, as well as cinemas and theaters around us or even build satellite towns in the city suburbs or the counties round the cities (6) encourage city citizens to move there to live and work 三、 正確使用過渡性詞語,提高文章的連貫性。 過渡性詞語的使用是語言的連貫性得以實現的最常用手段。在句子與句子之間,段落與段落之間恰當地使用一些承上啟下的過渡性詞語是非常必要的。例如上述例項,我們可在要點(1)前插入表示時間順序的過渡詞語 first / firstly, 在要點(3)前插入secondly,在要點(5)前插入finally。在要點(6)前可以插入表示終結關係的過渡短語in this way / by this means。現將中學課本中應掌握的過渡詞語總結如下: 1. 表示起始關係的有: first of all, according to, so far, as far as, to begin with, in my opinion等。 2. 表示時間順序的有: first, then, later, in the end, finally, at last, after that, since then, immediately, suddenly, soon等。 3. 表示空間順序的有: on the right / left, on one side of, at the top / foot / end of, in the middle of, in front of, at the back of等。 4. 表示並列關係的有:and, or, also, too, as well as, , not also, , 等。 5. 表示轉折關係的有: but, yet, however, while, on the contrary 等。 6. 表示因果關係的有: because, since, as, for, thanks to, thus, therefore, as a result (of), one reason is her reason is that...等。 7. 表示條件關係的有: if, unless, as (so) long as, on condition that等。 8. 表示讓步關係的有: although, though, even if, in spite of, after all, in fact, what (who, when, where, how...) ever 等。 9. 表示遞進關係的有:what's more, further more, besides, what's worse, to make the matter worse, also, still, on the one the other hand等。 10. 表示列舉事實的過渡性詞語有:for example / instance, such as, example, as follows, and so on等。 11. 表示總結性的有:in short, in brief, in a word, on the whole等。 12. 表示過渡性的插入語有: I think (believe, suppose, imagine, guess...), I'm afraid, you know, as is known to us all, as we all know 等。
