詞彙方面
備考的時候要學習日常生活詞語，關注特殊詞彙，特別是有關中國傳統文化方面的詞彙。
比如中國的傳統醫學，中醫方面，TCM =traditional Chinese medicine，Qigong =controlled breathing exercises，Internal causes (內傷七情：喜怒憂思悲恐驚：Joy、Anger、Worry、Thought、Sadness、Panic、 Fear )，External causes(外感六淫， 風寒暑溼燥火： Wind、Cold、Heat、Wetness、Dryness、Fire)。其他一些中國傳統文化的詞彙，比如Porcelain 瓷器、Pottery 陶器、Embroidery 刺繡、Carving 雕刻、Palace lantern 宮燈、Chinese painting 國畫、Paper-cut 剪紙、Chinese brush drawing/ink and wash painting 水墨畫等等，平時看見了要注意積累，這樣這考試時才不至於心裡明白卻寫不出來，出現把四大發明翻成“starfarming”(正解 The Four Great Inventions of Ancient China)，把指南針翻成“GPS”(正解compass)，把火藥翻成“TNT”(正解gunpowder)這樣的笑話。此外，你可以買一本《中高階口譯口試模板》這本書裡面把常見的翻譯情景羅列出來，比如中國節日、歷史事件、經濟文化、旅遊活動、社會發展等相關的詞彙，同時要注意中英文的切換規則。於此同時，你可以關注以反映中國社會為主的一些英文雜誌和報紙。每天看看網站中的`頭條新聞，配合中文新[微博]聞的背景，就可以學到很多表達。
句型方面
段落翻譯的另一難點就是長難句的攻克，平時加大對長難句的分析，考試中才能寫出精彩得分的句型。我們還是以中國傳統文化舉例。

分析從句比較多的長難句，要找到句子的切分點，切分點主要有兩種，一個是直接看到的，即連線詞that、which、who、when等等;另外一個是潛在的，即各種動詞形式，包括doing、to do(單獨使用的)、done等等
