分割結構作為一種特殊的結構，在翻譯會考查的頻次較高，難度較大，是考生的失分點。其考查主要體現為以下兩點：一是顯性分割，主要是以雙逗號或雙破折號將句子的成分隔開，比較明顯，但如果插入語的內容較長，則會影響考生對句子的理解;二是隱性分割，主要體現在動詞和賓語的分隔、先行詞和定語從句的分隔、名詞和其同位語從句分隔。
要點精析
按照分割結構的位置特點，常見的'分割結構：主謂間隔、動賓間隔、名詞和修飾語間隔，以及其他成分間隔等。
(1)分割主語和謂語
為了保持句子平衡，在主語和謂語之間可插入定語、狀語、同位語等。
例：Li Lei, the most brilliant boy in the whole school, gets high score in each competition.
作為全校最聰明的學生，李雷在每次比賽中都能取得高分。
(2)分割謂語和賓語
句子的賓語比較長時，為了使句子結構平衡，及物動詞與所接的賓語之間會被別的成分或表達隔開，有時賓語甚至會被放到句尾。
例：I impressed upon him the importance of the task.
我向他強調了這一任務的重要性。
(3)分割名詞和修飾結構
主要是定語從句和同位語從句(包括其它形式的後置定語和同位語)與所修飾的名詞之間會被別的成分或表達隔開。
例1：He laughs best who laughs last. 笑到最後的人笑得最好。(定語從句)
例2：The news is not true that we are having a holiday.
我們將去度假的訊息不是真的。(同位語從句)
(4)分割其它成分
主要包含以下兩種特殊結構，連詞和主語間隔、搭配間隔。
例1：I am sure that, without modern weapons, I would make a very poor show of disputing the ownership of a cave with a bear. (連詞和主語間隔)
我確信，在與一頭熊爭奪一個山洞所有權時，如果沒有現代武器，我將會洋相盡出。
例2：I shall define him as an individual who has elected as his primary duty and pleasure in life the activity of thinking in a Socratic way about moral problems.(固定搭配分割)
