5月5日，英語免費站，學英語的好網站，在拉達克地區對峙的中印兩國陸軍同時向後撤退，學習英語的網站，暫時結束了已持續三週的邊界對峙。

Beijing confirmed on Monday that China and India have made positive developments in a three-week border standoff, and called for joint efforts to create a “fair and reasonable” border treaty.
中國政府週一表示，中國和印度兩國就延續三週的'邊界對峙事件協商已取得積極進展，並呼籲雙方共同努力以達成一個“公平合理”的邊界問題協議。
中印兩國的邊界對峙（border standoff）始於今年4月中旬，印方指責中國軍隊越界進入印度領土（trespass on Indian territory），而中方則表示，中國軍隊一直致力於維護邊界地區的和平與安寧（peace and tranquility），未曾跨過印方實際控制線（the Line of Actual Control）。
Standoff指對立雙方互不相讓的僵持對峙狀態，比如，去年中國和菲律賓之間持續長達一月有餘的黃巖島僵局（Huangyan Island standoff），“陷入僵局”可以說come to/reach a standoff，雙方僵持的狀態也可叫confrontation（對峙）。
