US restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken said Monday it was conducting market tests of grilled chicken menu options for diners who prefer not to eat fried food. The grilled chicken menu options will contain less calories and fat than KFC's comparable fried chicken meals.
美國餐飲連鎖肯德基本週一表示他們為不愛吃油炸食品的顧客提供的'烤雞食品選單目前正處於市場測驗階段。與現有的肯德基炸雞食品相比，烤雞食品所含的熱量和脂肪都要少一些。
跟北京最具特色的全聚德烤鴨 roast duck不同，肯德雞的“烤雞”譯成 grilled chicken。Roast 意思是“to cook with dry heat, as in an oven or near hot coals (烘烤，如放在烤箱裡或熱煤附近通過乾熱烘烤)，而grill 是to broil on a gridiron (燒烤，放在烤架上烤)。雖然都是“烤”，但工具有所不同哦。
grill 做動詞時，有“燒烤，嚴加拷問”的意思;作為名詞時是“燒烤店，烤架”等意思。
例如：
He spent the summer buss table in a downtown grill.
整個夏季，他都在城裡一個燒烤店幫忙清理餐桌。
The police grilled him (with non-stop questions) for over an hour.
