a. 儘量在腦海中描述出正進行的對話：對誰在進行對話，在哪裡進行對話做一定的假設；
b. 尤其注意聽一些關鍵詞，被重複的詞等等；
c. 對所聽到的內容進行歸納，什麼是中心思想；
d. 特別注意提問句，因為對話通常是一問一答，答的內容通常是圍繞問題展開的。
常見的就對話主題而提的'問題有： What is the main topic of the conversation? What are the speakers mainly discussing? What is the subject of this conversation? What is the main idea of the conversation? Which of the following best summarizes the conversation?
常見的就身份、職業及人物關係而提的問題有： What is the person’s probable vocation/job? Who are the speakers? What is the relationship between the two speakers? Who is the woman/man speaking to?
