Task 3 In the reading material,The school wanted to prepare a seminar for the freshmen in order to help them know more about the campus life and make some friends in it. The man in the conversation loves the proposal for two reasons: firstly, he has faced considerable questions about the differences between high schools and colleges during his freshman year, however, he is so lack of this kind of knowledge that he always failed the questions. so having a seminar which will teach the students something related to that would be excellent. Secondly, he is a music major student, it's not difficult to communicate with the students in the same major, but the seminar will provide a platform where all the students from different majors could make friends with each other.
Task 4 Concept: Facial feedback
In the listening material, the professor said that he had made a experiment which divided several volunteers into two groups, they did the same quiz except the first group need to keep smiling as well as they finish the task while another group have to be unhappy during the exam. After the test, when they were asked how do they feel, the first group said it was interesting, but the second group suggested that it was devastating.
Task 5 The woman caught cold last week and she is still not recovered now so she worried about her singing perform in the afternoon since the professor will mark the performance. There are two solutions for her: one is to sing today but it must be very difficult to meet her normal standard; another one is to sing it next week, but in that case, she has to sing two songs in one class which requires more preparing time.
Task 6 Two ways of the regeneration of the dissolved oxygen in the water:
plants in the water produce oxygen through photosynthesis;
oxygen dissolves in the water directly which happens on the interface of the water and the air, so the weather conditions might have some influences on this process, for instance, the strong wind can increase the superficial area of the water by creating big waves which allows more oxygen to dissolve in the water.
