國小生常用50個地道英語短語

1. 正經點! Have some decency!

e.g. Stop playing with the cake. Have some decency! Seriously…

e.g. Ok, stop joking around. Seriously …

注:說這兩句話的情況不同,”have some decency”通常是在對方有了一些惡作劇的行為之後,用來提醒他舉止莊重一點。”Seriously…”則多用來轉變話題,跟中文的”說真格的……”類似,說完這句話,說者就把話題轉為嚴肅的內容。

2.乾脆點! Make up your mind!

e.g. Geez, we’ve been over this a thousand times. Make up your mind!

3.打擾了! Excuse me for bothering you.

注:因為文化的差異,美國人很少有這種說法,大部分的美國人都不認為要說這麼謙虛的話。

4.清醒點! Sober up!

e.g. Your parents are coming. Sober up.

Wake up! (Wake up and smell the coffee!)

e.g. Wake up! You look like you had a long night. 清醒點,你看起來像是整夜沒睡。

注:酒醉或吃藥後,多會用”Sober up”。”Wake up!”或”Wake up and smell the

coffee!”則是”腦袋裡在想什麼呀,醒醒吧你!”用來訓斥別人面對現實。

5.別理他! Don’t mind him.

e.g. Don’t mind him. He’s just playing. Forget him.

e.g. He saw me steal the diamond!

B: Forget him. I’ll take care of him.

注:forget him是”別理他!”,而”別理我!”是leave me alone。

6.有眼光! Good taste.

e.g. That looks really good. You’ve got good taste.

7.誰說的? Who said that? e.g. It’s not like that at all. Who said that? Says who?

e.g. They cancelled our show.

B: Says who?

注:這兩句話除了可用來詢問是什麼人說的,它的意思多半是用來否認所聽到的訊息。

8.很難說。 Hard to say. 表示不清楚、不確定而難下定論。

9.老實說。 To tell you the truth (that…)/ Honestly…

10.你撒謊! You lie!

11.真噁心! So disgusting!

12.真礙眼! Rubs me the wrong way.

e.g. I can’t put my finger on it, but he really rubs me the wrong way.

我說不上來,但他真礙眼!

注:說這句話時通常有人惹到你,但也可能只是因為某人的外貌、言行令人不舒服。

13.別想溜! Don’t run away!

注:run away也可指閃避問題,如:”Don’t run away from your problems. ” 是要對方面對,並解決問題。

14.不客氣。 You’re welcome. / No problem. / No bother./ Don’t worry about it/ Don’t mention it.

15. 不上道。 Don’t know how to play the game.

e.g. Everyone accepted the bribe except him. He doesn’t know how to play the game.

注:這是現代的俚語。有一句Playing the field,它的'意思就大不一樣了,是表示同時跟很多不同的人約會。

16.你輸了! You lost!

17.吵死了! So noisy!

18.不見得。 Not necessarily.

e.g. Everyone is gonna hate me.

B: Not necessarily. (意味”情況可能正好相反”)

19.兜風去。 Let’s go out for a drive.

e.g. I feel so trapped in here. Let’s go out for a drive!

我覺得有被困在這裡得感覺。咱們兜風去吧!

Let’s go out for some air!

e.g. We’ve been studying all day. Let’s go out for some air!

注:going out for a drive 是開車或騎車出去。 going out for some air 除了開車或騎車,也可表示用走來散心。

20.怕了吧? Now you are scared, aren’t you?

e.g. Now you are scared, aren’t you?

B: Get that gun away from me!

21. 真低階! How low-class!

e.g. What do you think about Mary’s new skirt?

B: How low-class! (通常不當別人面講這句話)

22.就這樣。 The way it is。 e.g. You can’t change anything. That’s the way it is. Let it be.

e.g. I know it’s hard to accept. Let it be.

注:let it be通常語氣和緩,以安慰別人或使人平靜。

23.放棄吧! Give up!

24.太神了! Cool!

25. 解脫了! Free at last! e.g. Thank god I graduated and I’m done with school forever. Free at last.

26. 要你管! Not your business. /None of your business./ It’s none of your business.

注:有些用Beeswax代替Business。

27. 好惡心! Sick!

e.g. Have you seen that movie “Friday the 13th”? It’s so sick.

28. 小氣鬼! Stingy bastard!

e.g. He didn’t even pay for my dinner!

What a stingy a miser!

e.g. He’s been wearing the same clothes since high school. What a miser! Can’t he buy new clothes?

注:stingy bastard語氣很刻薄,因為”bastard”已經近乎粗話了。Stingy 是形容詞,小氣,吝嗇之意 Miser是名詞。

29. 我招了! I admit… e.g. Yeah, you’re right. OK, I admit it!

注:本句用來當作爭論失敗得宣告,或者用來表示道歉。

30. 別惹我! Don’t bother me.

e.g. Ok, I’ll do whatever you want. But just don’t bother me anymore.

Stop picking on me.

e.g. Can you stop picking on me? 你能不能別再惹我?

注:Bother 意思是阻撓,困擾,或對某人嘮叨。To pick on someone是指作弄人,找人麻煩。

31. 沒什麼。 Not much…

e.g. Hey! What’s up!

B: Not much…

32. 答對了。 Bingo! / You are right!

33. 改天吧! Another time…

e.g. Let’s go out again tomorrow night.

B: Maybe another time…

I’ll take a rain check.

e.g. I’ll take you out to dinner.

B: I can’t tonight, but I’ll take a rain check.

注:rain check本意來自比賽因下雨而取消,所發給觀眾下次入場得延期證明;或是商店再減價時段特價品賣完時,發給客人在有貨時可以相同優惠購買該商品得證明。

34. 我不管! I don’t care!

e.g. But your rival has everyone’s favor…

B: I don’t care! I’m going to beat him. Just watch.

注:I don’t give a damn! =I don’t care. 但是更粗俗一些。

35. 別多嘴。 Enough! Shut up!

36. 耍大牌。 Poser! e.g. Who does she think she is? A movie star? What a poser!

37. 何必呢? What for?

e.g. I want to go back to school.

B: What for? You already have a Ph D! Why are you doing that?

e.g. You have all the toys you need. Why are you buying more? Why are you doing that?

注:依說話的語氣,意思可能是刻薄的反諷,好奇的詢問,或是冷漠不想搭理對方。

38. 書呆子。 Nerd.

e.g. All he does is study. He never goes out. What a nerd!

39. 不錯吧? Look, not bad, huh?

e.g. I’ve organized all this information for the presentation. Look, not bad, huh?

40. 真可怕! That’s terrible!

41. 別妄想! You’re dreaming! / In your dreams.

42. 你真行! You’re so great! / You ‘da bomb! / You are the bomb.

43. 不難吃。 Tastes good.

44. 真體貼! So affectionate! e.g. Did you see the way she touches him? So affectionate!

注:另外一種口語用法是”lovey-duvvy”,但是比較負面,含有受不了別人如此親熱的意思。

45. 得了吧! Come on!

46. 末班車。 Just made it. e.g. I was the 150th prize-winner! Just made it for the championship!

注:本句得相反詞就是名落孫山, “just missed it”。

47. 猜猜看! Guess!
