Well是交際英語中一個十分常用的語氣輔助詞，其主要用法大致可歸納為：
1. 表示驚訝，意為：啊、咳、嘿。如：
Well， youve grown. 唷，你長高了。
Well， who would have thought it？ 啊，誰會想到是這樣呢？
2. 表示快慰，意為：好啦。如：
Well， thats over. 好啦，搞完啦。
Well， here we are at last. 好啦，我們終於到了。
3. 表示讓步，意為：好吧。如：
Well， perhaps youre right. 好吧，也許你是對的。
