第二種常見錯誤是代詞在性別上未能與被指代物件保持一致，這在學生的口語中也是常見問題。比如學生所寫這句話Studying in a co-educational school， a girl may concentrate more on popular boys， which may cause ignorance of his study.顯然，his的出現與句子主語a girl是不相符合的，應該改為her。
第三種錯誤是代詞在數上未能與被指代物件保持一致。在Girls are easy to be persuaded to buy cosmetics， because she always wants to be pretty.中，主語是girls，為複數，但是原因狀語從句中的代詞卻是she。改正的方法便是將she改為they體現數的一致，同時將wants改為want，實現從句內部的主謂一致。最終結果為Girls are easy to be persuaded to buy cosmetics， because they always want to be pretty.。
