現在一般時（present tense）概念：表示通常性、規律性、習慣性、真理性的狀態或者動作(有時間規律發生的事件)的一種時間狀態。
常用結構：
1.主語+謂語+其他(表動作)
It never snows in Australia in December.
澳大利亞的12月裡從來不下雪。
They usually go to school by bike.
他們通常騎自行車上學。
He writes to his father twice a month.
他每月寫兩次信給他爸爸。
2.主語+be+表語(表狀態)
He is a student.
他是學生。
ⅠBe動詞的一般現在時
主語+be(am , is , are)+其它
肯定句式:主語+be( am, is, are)+其它. 如，The color is blue.
否定句式:主語+be(am, is, are) +not +其它.如，The color is not blue.
一般疑問句:Be(am, is, are) +主語+其它?.
注:在這種構成中，be動詞有人稱和數的變化，即要根據主語選用am / is / are。Be動詞分為單數和複數，am和is是表示單數，am只跟I搭配(除了I其餘的單數都用is)，are表示複數。
Ⅱ 實義動詞的.一般現在時
① 主語(第三人稱單數)+動詞(第三人稱單數形式)+其它
肯定句式:主語(第三人稱單數)+動詞(第三人稱單數形式)+其它，如，He likes it
否定句式:主語(第三人稱單數)+doesn’t+動詞(原形)+其它.如：He dosen't like it.
一般疑問句:Does+主語(第三人稱單數)+動詞(原形)+其它? Does he like it?
② 主語(除了第三人稱單數)+動詞(原形)+其它
肯定句式:主語(除了第三人稱單數)+動詞(原形)+其它 如：I like it
否定句式:主語(除了第三人稱單數)+don’t+動詞(原形)+其它.如：I don't like it.
一般疑問句:Do+主語(除了第三人稱單數)+動詞(原形)+其它? Do you know it.
注:do、don’t和does、doesn’t是構成一般現在時的助動詞，其特點是要在其後跟動詞的原形。
