俗語說：薑是老的辣. 講的的是年長者的人生智慧和生活閱歷。當你遇到困境的時候，需要來自他人的建議，自然，年長的者人生智慧，生活經歷，思辨頭腦對於我們的指導意義更大。因為，年長者的經驗可以令我們不走或者少走彎路。有趣的例證就是：大學的愛情風花雪月，男生喜歡美麗女神，女生喜歡帥氣的男生， 但是，單純的愛情被膚淺的快樂吸引，情侶們很少考慮家庭的背景，或者是兩種的興趣志向是否相同，這時候，年長朋友的建議對於未來幸福婚姻是有很重要的影響，因為，年長朋友經歷過了才懂得大學美好愛情不等於未來和諧的婚姻，僅僅有愛是不能結婚的。再比如：年輕人求學的時候，可以選擇海外留學或者國內讀書，這時候，可能父輩們的建議和鼓勵對於我們學業成功就有極其重要的`指導意義，因為，很多的年輕人都是讀書無意識，人生無意識。年長者的眼光通常很長遠，年長者的閱歷通常很豐富，因此，他們的建議是重要的。
