所謂並列句是指兩個或兩個以上的簡單句通過並列連詞連在一起構成的句子，稱為並列句，其基本結構是“簡單句+並列連詞+簡單句”。並列連詞有： 以and表示並列遞進關係的並列連詞，以but表示轉折關係的並列連詞，以or為代表的表示選擇關係的並列連詞，以so為代表的表示因果關係的並列連詞 等。並列句中的'各簡單句意義、定位和重要性相同，不分高低先後，相互之間沒有從屬關係，是平行並列的關係，因此叫並列句。他們之間用連詞連線。
