英文日記和中文日記的寫法大致相同。一般是第一行寫日期、星期、天氣狀況。日期通常頂格寫，後面是星期，天氣狀況寫在右上角。表示天氣情況的詞一般用形容詞，如：fine ，cold ，rainy ，windy ，cloudy ，sunny ，snowy ，foggy 等。正文部分另起一行。 2. 人稱：日記要用第一人稱寫。
另外還要注意3點：
1. 時態：寫日記的時間一般是在下午或晚上，有時也有在第二天補記。所記敘的事情通常發生在過去，所以常用一般過去時。但如果要記敘天氣、描寫景色、展望未來、議論某事或對話引語等，可以使用一般現在時或一般將來時，以生動再現當時的情景。
2. 日記的寫作順序：日記一般按照時間順序或事情的經過來寫。語言要清楚、自然，內容要連貫、完整。
3. 型別：日記可分為記事型、議論型、描寫型以及抒情型等。記事型日記，就是用所學英語詞彙記述當天自己生活中所發生的事情。議論型，就是對生活中的`某一事件或情況、現象發表自己的看法。描寫型就是對某人、某物的特徵進行細緻地描述，或對某事物抒發自己的感情。

An English proverb says that time is money. I consider it (this) wrong. Why? Because we all know that we can earn money be work but can not in any way get back time (in anyway)。 For this reason, we may (can) say that time is more valuable than money.
Many people do not know the value of time. It (this) is indeed a great pity. We must bear (keep) in mind that wasting time is equal to wasting your life.
英國有句諺語說，時間就是金錢。我認為這是不對的。為什麼?因為我們大家都知道我們能夠用工作賺錢，但無論如何卻無法把時間爭取回來。基於此種理由，我們可以說時間比錢錢更寶貴。

I am free now as I am spending my winter holiday.
Although we have some homework, we can finish them in several days. And the rest time we can make good use of. My god! We have been very tired after hard studying. In winter holidays, I want to have full sleep and eat good food in order to replenish myself. Last but not the least, I will have a good rest.
I have rested for a week. I began to feel bored. So I went out with my friends. They are my best friends in the middle school. We didn’t go to someplace special. We just saw the other. We had lunch together. While we were having lunch, we were still talking about the new school and new friends. Yes! A year later, we have grown riper. And we learned much more things and got new life. We haven’t enough time to play, to waste and to lose the way. We only have two years. Two years to go, we will get the real life which belongs to
