There was a naughty boy，有一個頑皮的孩子，
And a naughty boy was he，頑皮的孩子就是他，
He ran away to Scotland 他離家到蘇格蘭去
The people for to see---去看那邊的人們
Then he found 然後他發現
That the ground 那邊的`地面
Was as hard，一樣的堅硬，
That a yard 那邊的尺碼
Was as long，一樣的長，
That a song 那裡的歌聲
Was as merry，一樣的美妙，
That a cherry 那裡的櫻桃
Was as red，一樣的鮮紅
That lead 那裡的鉛
Was as weighty，一樣的沉重
That fourscore 那裡的八十
Was as eighty，同樣也是八十
That a door 那裡的門
Was as wooden
As in England---和英格蘭一樣，也是木製的
So he stood in his shoes 因此，他著鞋而立
And he wonder'd;大感驚奇;
