英語作文的'前提條件是掌握了一定量的詞彙、語法及體裁、題材等方面的知識。學生如果想要在寫作方面有本質上的提升，必須進行多次的寫作練習。因此，必須合理地設定訓練步驟，遵循從初級到高階，從簡單到複雜的原則去練習，經過一段寫作實踐之後，寫作水平一定會有大幅度的提高。
二、會考英語寫作的評分標準
1、老師拿到的標準
寫作水平的高低和文章的好壞，分數是最直接的評分標準，也是考生們最關心的。但是多少考生真正透徹知道會考英語寫作的評分標準?什麼樣的文章才是閱卷老師眼中的好文章?
評分標準：
1. 整篇作文滿分20分，其中內容8分，語言8分，結構4分。
2. 內容貼切，句子流暢，用語準確，加整體印象分1分。
3. 不滿60個詞，少1——5個詞扣 0.5分，6——10個詞扣1分。
4. 所有給出問題涉及的三項內容，每少一項扣3分。
5. 每個拼寫，大小寫，標點符號等錯誤扣0.5分;同一的拼寫錯誤不重複扣分，扣分總和不超過2分。
6. 語法錯誤每項扣1分，同一錯誤不重複扣分，扣分總和不超過2分。
2、老師想看到的標準
語言(8分)： 詞——固定搭配、高頻重點詞彙;
句——複雜句(各種從句)、特殊句型、正確的句子!
內容(8分)： (總、分)論點、論據支援句;
簡潔、切合主題的記敘內容。
結構(4分)： 語言結構——句子重點突出、內容清晰;
內容結構——論點、論據以及記敘之間的邏輯關係;
句數控制——對於相對內容的句數掌握;
亮點、出彩點——排比、擬人、諺語、成語、押韻等。
