  聽力原文

(Text 1)

W: Has Jones got up?

M: Yes, he has been up since six.

W: Oh, I see. He has been up for half an hour.

M: That's right.

(Text 2)

M: Mr. and Mrs. Clarke go shopping on Sunday mornings. Mr.

Clarke never enjoys shopping.

W: Mrs. Clarke does the shopping and he sits in his car and

waits for her.

(Text 3)

M: Is there anything else you want to buy while we are in

town?

W: Let's stop at the cantata shop to get some color films. I want

to take some pictures in our garden today.

(Text 4)

M: Joan can't decide which car to buy.

W: Shouldn't she test driving a few of them first before making

a final decision?

M: Well, you'd better tell her yourself.

(Text 5)

W: It's been raining for the past few weeks, but today is a nice

day. I want to go to the beach?

M: It's probably better than I don't go. It's very sunny and I get

sunburned easily.

W: Really? Then I'll go there with some other friends.

(Text 6)

W: Paul, we haven't gone out for over a month. Let's go

somewhere this evening.

M: Fine. Where would you like to go? Look in the newspaper

to get information about the movies or the theatre.

W: I see that a new play opened this week.

M: It seemed very bad. The newspaper story said it was the

worst play of the year. You don't want to go there. What

else can we do?

W: I'd enjoy a good concert, but, according to the paper, there

are not any tonight.

M: Aren't there any good movies in town?

W: How about American Beauty? That should be nice.

M: We've already seen it. It's an old picture. Don't you

remember?

(Text 7)

M: Hi, Ruth. This is Steve speaking. How was the football

game yesterday?

W: Great. Why did you miss it? Steve?

M: My parents didn't let me go because I had a fever. I'm still

in bed.

W: Too bad you weren't there. We all went together-- Jenny,

Jimmy, George and I.

M: It must have been freezing sitting outside, wasn't it?

W: It was. We were all wrapped up in blankets, wool hats, and

heavy coats.

M: I hear it started snowing in the middle of the game.

W: It did, lightly at first, then harder. But it didn't stop the game.

That was the most exciting moment and it was so funny

watching the players slipping in the snow.

(Text 8)

M: Don't tell me you're studying for another exam!

W: That's exactly what I am doing.

M: What subject is it this time?

W: Biology, and it's going to be a hard one.

M: Don't you get tired of studying all the time?

W: Yes, I do. Sometimes I want to throw all of them right out

of the window.

M: I don’t know how you keep on with it. It's too hard to become a doctor.

W: Well, you study a lot too. It doesn't seem any easier to become an engineer.

M: But at least it doesn't take as long. I’ll be out putting up the buildings while you're still a student here. By the way, can I help you with your study now?

W: Yes, please. You can read me all these words and see if I know what they mean.

M: I don’t know if you'll remember all of them.

W: You have to learn just as many words as I do, and they're all technical words that I don’t understand.

(Text 9)

M: Excuse me. Are you waiting to buy today's film tickets?

W: Yes, I am. So are all these people in front of me.

M: Have you been here long?

W: About 45 minutes. I’ve moved forward a total about 3 feet.

M: Oh...

W: Not at all. A young couple who have been waited for one hour ahead of me finally gave up and left.

M: Does anyone know what caused the delay?

W: There are just not enough people selling tickets this

afternoon.

M: I guess I should have come before lunch.

W: Maybe you would meet the same thing because many people have been looking forward to it for a long time.

M: Maybe it’s true.
