特點及優勢
卡爾加里大學建校於1966年，在校生規模達28,000餘人的綜合性大學，其2009年排名在加拿大醫博類大學中名列第7位。
卡大位於加拿大阿爾伯塔省卡爾加里市西北部，它的前身是阿爾伯塔大學卡爾加里分校，1966年開始獨立授予學生學位。
學校100多個本科專業，注重跨學科專業、合作專案和實習課程的'開發。運動機能學和建築專業在北美的知名度很高。社會工作專業是加拿大最大的專業。工程與文科相結合的課程還提供5年制的學習。
卡爾加里大學擁有16個學院。 數個被認可的大學學院是Haskayne商學院, Schulich工程學院, 人體工學學院, 醫學院(MD), 法律學院(LLB), 和2008年加拿大西部的第二獸醫學院。
知名校友有史蒂芬·哈珀(Stephen Harper)：加拿大保守黨領袖，卡大經濟學碩士學位，於2006年當選為加拿大總理;詹姆斯·戈斯林(James Gosling)：程式語言Java和Emacs的創作者之一，畢業於1977年，卡大電腦科學學士學位。
