為什麼how不能引導定語從句
關係副詞在美國英語裡只有三個：when、where、why.它們引導定語從句,在從句中作的是狀語.
when引導定語從句,在從句裡作時間狀語,先行詞表示時間.如：
Tuesday is the day when the garbage truck comes.
where引導定語從句,在從句裡作地點狀語,先行詞表示地點,如：
I once again came to New York,where I hadn't been for ten years.
He and his family moved to Italy,from where he moved to Germany and went to university.
He has reached a point where a change is needed.
why引導定語從句,在從句中作原因狀語,先行詞只有reason.
That's the reaon why I didn't go to college.
how不能引導定語從句,它可以作疑問副詞或縮合連線副詞使用.如果先行詞是the way,則可以用in which、that引導定語從句.如：
I don't know how I can solve the problem.
That is how he solved the problem.
That is the way in which/that he solved the problem.
定語從句
定語從句，一個簡單句跟在一名詞或代詞後（先行詞）進行修飾限定，就叫做定語從句。在主句中充當定語成分。被修飾的詞叫先行詞。定語從句不同於單詞作定語的.情況，它通常只能放在被修飾的詞（即先行詞）之後。
定語 從句由關係詞（關係代詞、關係副詞）引導，關係代詞、關係副詞位於定語從句句首。
