言之無物
無論在口試的第一部分和第二部分，很多考生在回答問題時喜歡說些空洞範圍的大話。比如：
Q：What is special about the Chinese Spring Festival?
A：Its a big and important festival，so it is special.
答非所問
許多的考生在口試中滔滔不絕地講了許多，然而最終的'成績卻不理想。原因之一就是離題或者跑題。
句序混亂，缺少關聯詞
連貫性標準的考察也包含了邏輯能力的表現。先來看下列句子：
Q：Can you tell me some thing about your family?
A;There are 5 people in my family. They work in this city brother is a driver. I am a student. My sister is a nurse mother is a teacher father is a teacher，too.
以上的答案從邏輯的角度來說較為混亂。完全可以條理化之：There are 5 people in my family my parents are teachers. My brother is a driver and my sister is a nurse.
