如圖所示，在天氣寒冷的時候，應該選擇角度比較高屋頂以吸收更多的陽光來增加室內溫度。與此同時，在房間的內層安置保溫材料，用來存貯收集來的熱量。並且要在房屋的外側安裝insulation，來減少熱量的散失。這樣就可以保證儘可能高的室內溫度。
