Junior(三年級生)：高中、學院或大學的三年級學生。
Leave of Absence(准假)：准許學習成績優良的學生請假一段時間，然後繼續學業。
Lecture(講課)：學院和大學課程的'普通教授法。教授在由二十名到幾百名學生組成的課堂上講課，輔之以由助教指導的定期小組討論。
Liberal Arts(或“Liberal Arts and Sciences”,或“ArtsandSciences”)(文理科)：泛指人文學科(語言、文學、哲學、藝術)、社會科學(經濟學、社會學、人類學、歷史學、政治學)和自然科學(數學、物理、化學)各學科。
