跟brutal意思類似的還有幾個詞，它們的細微區別如下：

9. cling to v. 緊緊抓住，依戀;堅持，墨守
英語中表示堅持的詞還有很多，如insist，persist，adhere等，它們的區別如下：
cling 與to連用，指對信仰、意見、習慣等的堅持。
adhere 也與to連用，指堅持意見、計劃或承諾等，含有堅持不懈的意思。
insist 通常用於對意見、主張等的堅持。
persist 用於褒義時指堅持繼續做某事，但更常用於貶義，指不聽勸告，頑固堅持。
persevere 含褒義，強調堅持不懈的努力。
cling的過去式和過去分詞是clung，cling to sth.=become attached to sth.
