studying the english language in an english-speaking country is the best but not the only way to learn the language. do you agree or disagree with this statement?

learning english in an english speaking country has many advantages. it is, therefore, a good idea to learn english in britain or america. however, i believe it is not the only way to learn the language.

to begin with, most students in non-english-speaking countries learn english in high schools or universities. although their spoken english is not usually of a very high standard, their knowledge of grammar is often quite advanced. this is certainly useful when later they come to an english-speaking country to perfect the language.

however, it is obviously advantageous to learn english in english speaking countries where, every day, students will have ample chance to practise listening and speaking. in addition, students can experience the foreign culture, which greatly helps understand the language. this is especially true if they choose to live with an english or american family. still, since students are taught by native speakers, their reading and writing skills will improve as well.

as every coin has two sides, learning english at home also proves effective. at home students will have less stress and fewer problems in accommodation, expensive tuition and living costs.

in conclusion, it is preferable to study english in an english speaking country, but a reasonable level of english can be achieved at home, if a student is gifted and dedicated to study.

Different people have different ambitions. When children study at school, they already have their own ideals. Stone want to be engineers or doctors in the future. Others want to be artists or businessmen. Still others want to be teachers or lawyers. But few want to be farmers.

Unlike most people, I choose to be a farmer in the future and make contributions to development of agriculture. Agriculture is essential to the national economy and the people's livelihood. Without it there won't be grains on which people survive. Nevertheless, farmers are ignored, even looked down upon by urban people. I determine to challenge the traditional idea and contribute to changing this situation.

However, lt is not easy to he a modern farmer in the 21st century. A modern farmer must be equipped with a variety of knowledge such as chemlstry, biology and meteorology. Therefore, I must study conscientiously from now on so that I can get the chance to study as a postgraduate in an agricultural university.

I believe only a man with scientific knowledge can meet the challenge of the 21st century and assume the task of modernizing agriculture.

Some people say that college students should take up part-time jobs because they have much more free time than in the high school. While the others worry about that taking part-time jobs may have negative effects on study. In my opinion, I think part-time jobs have both advantages and disadvantages.

On one hand, part-time jobs can broaden students’ horizon and make their free time more colorful. They do not only have the life on campus but also have many social activities. In this way, they can lead to a varied life. What’s more, their personal development can be enhancing to a better level. Some part-time jobs can have great contribute to the society. For instance, to be a volunteer in the orphanage, or do some cleaning for the community. Through these work, the students will realize their personal value and know that they are capable people. The part-time jobs also help the students to realize that ma-ki-ng money is not easy, they should appreciate that their parents hard working. With the money they earn, they can buy the things they want and reduce the family’s economic burdens.

On the other hand, part-time jobs could have negative effects, too. The part-time jobs may take up too much of the free time that students would have no time to relax and study. What’s worse, some students may play truant in order to make more money. Some students even go to jail because they come under the influence of bad people through part-time jobs.

In conclusion, doing part-time jobs have both advantages and disadvantages. Students have to find a balance between their study and the jobs. After all, the main job of the students is to study.

People love movies, and when it comes to “where is the perfect place to watch movie”, different people have different views. Some people think that theatre is the wonderful place to go,for it could offer them the enjoyable of visual sense and hearing sense, and they might meet some new friends who are sharing the same taste with rs think that home is the sweetest place to watch movies. They can suspend the movie whenever they want and they can talk with their friends freely. In my point of view, I would like to watch movie at home.

In the first place, going to theatre to watch movie is not as comfortable as you think. There may be atraffic jam when you are on the way to theatre, and after you finally get there, you probably already have no mood to watch movie. What’s more, the theatre might not that clean as you see. There might be some rubbish around your feet, or a Coca-Cola cup which the former customer left beside your hand. And there is another thing that you are hard to bear: noise. It’s every annoying when you are watching movie and someone is whispering ,and sometimes not just one person whispering but a dozen! If you are watching movie at home, you don’t have to worry all about those problems.

It the second place, watching movie in theater is not as safe as you think. When movie starts, the lights would be turn off, and you are almost in a dark room. What if there is asociopath or psychopath who wants to stab people for spree, you are hard to get away from this. When theatre is on fire, people will be more scared because the darkness makes them upset, and it’s more difficult to escape when people are totally psycho out.

In the third place, when you watch movie in holidays, going to theatre seems not fit in economic principles. Every theatre would raise the ticket price when holiday comes. Why don’t you save the money to buy a big bag of popcorn and watch movie at home.

Basic the reasons above, if you want to get away from the problems in the theatre, and suspend the movie whenever you want, watching movie at home is the best choice.

Duststorms are becoming a great concern for both the public and the government in recent years. Every spring overwhelming sands and dust sweep the northern part of China, blocking out the sky, enshrouding cities and villages, bring much inconvenience and problems to people's lives and work. In some regions, sandstorms have caused great loss in both people's lives and properties.

Duststorms are largely created by man himself. On the one hand, too much air pollution causes a greenhouse effect, which, in turn, leads to global wanning in climate. This results in wet places on the earth even wetter and dry places even drier. On the other hand, over grazing, poor fanning, tree cutting, strip mining all leave theland unprotected. When the wind blows, it blows away topsoil and loose soil.

Duststorms are another punishment nature gives to mankind. We must be alert to this ecological alarm. We should not only take effective measures to stop duststorms but also draw some lessons from it. We should not "develop" the local economy at the cost of the natural environment.

attitude to our life

i have been shocked many times by some accidents in my life through which i find human's life is like a delicate vase that will break into pieces for some unepected incidents.

one day in the summer of last year, wang, my friend, was watching a football match with his match was too eciting for his father's heart to bear so he suddenly fell down to the ground for the heart attack. 120 was soon dialed but wang's father passed away at last. it was too cruel for wang to see his father die in front of him, and also too difficult for me to accept the fact, because just several hours before his death, he picked wang and me up at pu dong airport and sent us back home. at that time, he was so healthy that no one would epect that he would die a few hours later.

a few days later, i found something wrong with my was a cyst as big as a coin found under my cheek. i felt very worried because, as i know, a cyst in that place was very dangerous. i was put into hospital after the doctor decided to remove it. after i entered the room of patients, i was jaw dropping because the looks of the patients were frightening, one person has a lump as big as a baseball on his face; another patient's eyes were bruised too badly to be seen and an old man's teeth had been all knocked off because the doctor would do an operation in his throat. i felt lucky and was even satisfied with my illness in this situation.

life is really precious and people are bornblind or deaf. some pass away in a minute. some live in great pain even they are alive. we have no qualification to complain about some little unfairness in our life if we are should care for our lives and make use of it as plentifully as possible.
