一、sb marry sb表示"嫁給某人;與......結婚"。例如：
John married Mary last week.上星期約翰和瑪麗結婚了。
二、sb be/get married to sb表示“與某人結婚”。例如：
Jane was married to a doctor last month. 上個月簡和一位醫生結婚了。
Rose got married to a teacher.羅斯和一位教師結婚了。
三、sb marry sb to sb表示“父母把女兒嫁給某人”或“為兒子娶媳婦”。例如：
She married her daughter to a businessman.她把女兒嫁給了一位商人。
四、marry作不及物動詞時，往往用副詞或介詞短語來修飾。例如：
She married very early/well . 她很早就結婚了。
五、marry 一般不與介詞with 連用。例如：
她和一位英國人結了婚。
【誤】She married with an Englishman.
【正】She married an Englishman.
【正】She was / got married to an Englishman.
六、若問某某是否結婚，而不涉及結婚的物件，可用be / get married的形式，相當於系表結構。例如：
你結婚了嗎?
【誤】 Do you marry?/ Have you married?

B: Yes, she is. She married a Frenchman.

[誤]Have you married?
[正]Are you married? Have you got married?
[析]詢問別人是否結婚，實質上是問其婚姻狀態，應用be married;也可用表示動作的get married的完成時來表示其結果對現在的影響。
b.你什麼時候結婚的`?
[誤]When did you marry?
[正]When did you get married? When did you marry Alice/Jim?
[析]此處若用marry, 其後應接賓語，意即：你什麼時候娶/嫁給某某的?否則，應用片語get married.
c.我們結婚已有兩年。
[誤]We have married for two years.
[正]We have been married for two years. We got married two years ago.
[析]單個的marry一詞不能用於表達這樣的意義，應用片語be married或get married, 前者表示狀態，可以和表示一段時間的時間狀語連用，後者表示動作，為瞬間動詞，不可和表示一段時間的時間狀語連用。
d.你可以帶著四個孩子改嫁。
[誤]You can be married to four children.
[正]You can be married with four children.
[析]“和……結婚”只需用marry, 而不需接with, 因為marry為及物動詞。marry sb. with a child意為“帶著孩子改嫁”或“娶/嫁給一個有孩子的人”等。
e.她嫁給了一個律師。
[誤]She married with a lawyer.
[誤]She married to a lawyer.
[正]She married a lawyer.
[正]She was married to a lawyer.
[析]“嫁給某人”應說:marry sb.或be married to sb., 而不能說marry with/to sb.
