小烏龜來我們家可有很長的時間了，是在我小時候媽媽買的，那時只有手掌那麼大，現在長了不少，像碗口一樣。我們倆朝夕相處已經四，五年，我非常喜歡它。
小烏龜通身翠綠，像用玉雕出來的一樣，極其精緻。頭的兩邊長著一對黑豆般的小眼睛，亮晶晶很有神。在它的眼睛後面，長著一對不容易看出來的小耳朵。下面是一張三角形的嘴。小烏龜有尖尖的小尾巴，強壯的四隻腳，腳上還長有趾甲，趾間有蹼，划水時可幫上大忙了。它的殼分成一些多邊形塊，每個小塊上都有花紋，放到一起組成了美麗的大花紋，非常堅固。最有特點的是它肚子底下也有花紋，並且是“回”字形的。看上去就像古代時的盾牌，十分別致。
平時，小烏龜經常在水底趴著休息，一副懶散的樣子。可是要是有一點動靜，它就會驚慌失措地將頭，四肢和尾巴一起縮排殼內，從上面看就像一個小足球。我拿龜食來餵它時，它也會活動起來。龜食還沒入水，它就迫不及待了，頭伸出好遠，游來游去，當龜食沉入水裡，小烏龜就用前腳扒拉一陣，再聞一會兒香味，然後大口大口地嚼起來。吃完飯了，它就開始玩耍，一會兒在水中激起幾朵水花，一會兒鑽到水底的沙子中去捉迷藏。
小烏龜特別將衛生。一天，我因為著急上學，忘了給它換水，回家後急急忙忙衝到魚缸前，只看見小烏龜在把髒物聚在一起。我樂了，輕輕碰碰它，它歪著頭看著我，好像在說：“我正在打掃衛生，你來幹什麼呢？”真的好有趣啊。
