What is more, overseas experience is the best opportunity for the real-life use of foreign languages. Generally peaking, it is my view that although going abroad is expensive and perhaps painful, the payoff is worthwhile. In the first place, in addition to knowledge, overseas students can gain precious experiences that those who stay at home will never have. My good friend Ann also took part in the sports meeting. But she did badly in it. I began to worry about her. However, she said, “That doesn’t matter. Although I didn’t win, I’m also the best, aren’t I?” I was surprised at her words, but that was really true.
At the closing ceremony, the headmaster said, “Well done! My children. In this sports meeting, all of you are the winners!”
