在雅思寫作的題型中discussion是一種出現頻率非常高的題型，此類題通常的出題形式是Some people think... uss both views and give your own opinion. Some people和others的陣營我們往往必然會同意一方，或者是雙方都同意,。怎樣解此類考題呢？來看看謝爽老師的經驗。
對於discussion類考題，許多同學會認為雙方都同意會比較好寫，因為可以兩個陣營的看法分別分析，再寫一段混合作用，相互影響的段落作為自己的看法，這樣看起來結構整齊，條理清晰，還不用愁字數的問題。但事實上想拿高分卻並沒有這麼簡單。
雅思考試是一個不同於國內傳統的英語考試的語言水平測試，題目的.設定確實遵循了檢驗考生語言水平的目標，但是其中的寫作和口語部分也體現了西方民主文化的氣息。在這兩個部分中，除了過硬的英語基礎，考官同時也期待看到一個有見解，有邏輯，有想法的你，因此題目的設計有的時候會讓我們之前的規劃落空，因為那不是真實的我們——我們要做自己。
咱們一起來看兩道非常有代表性的真題：
C6 TEST2
Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified in other important people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
咱們一起來看一下這道題，同一個人對於同一件事，應該是不太可能同時覺得“即公平又不公平”的，所以那種兩個陣營分別說，最後再混合的辦法肯定是行不通的了。那應該怎麼寫呢？答案其實很簡單——做自己，具體操作方法為：想想反方的理由，寫出相應的反駁路局（主體段第一段）；充分表達自己的想法（主題段第二段）。大家看看P164頁考官的範文，感覺一下，是不是讀起來很痛快呢；或者你會很氣憤，隨時歡迎有不同看法的同學傳送自己的文章給我們，你的論證也許比會考官更有力。
下面我們繼續來看幾道，更加民主的題目吧：

我們現在來看一下考官的做法“However， reaching the conclusion that change is inevitable is not the same as assuming that ‘change is always for the better’. 是不是很機智，而且很學術，大家直接拿去用吧“However， reaching the conclusion that +A陣營不對+is not the same as assuming that ‘B陣營就是完全正確的’”
